dd 1.29.09The DD for 1.29.09.

From 2-D to 3-D. Wonder how long this one will take. Hey it’s still winter, so who cares?

Another day babying the knees. The left more than the right.  Think I need Dr. M to shoot up my knee again. That should get me though the what’s left of winter and the storms of spring.

dd 1.28.09Spent this beautiful snowy day working on this study for the  3-D skulls I’ve been making. I put an order in for some cool looking (and long lasting) glow-in-the-dark paint. These babies are going to be hot!

Snow in the forecast, looks like I’ll be walking to work in the am.

dd 1.27.09Working in 3-D space today. Making more skullies to paint. I do so love making skulls. I need to take pics of the ones I’ve already made, and post them in their own gallery.

The Daily Draw and my first Movie Review!

dd 1.26.09The DD for 1.26.09.

Went and saw ‘Stranded: I’ve Come from a Plane That Crashed on the Mountains’ tonight at The Tooth.

I was about 13 when I read the book, Alive.  At that age it was “Oh, gross man!” and then go on to read and reread the story.

I’m just as amazed 35 years later, but now it’s how these city kids, who knew nothing about survival in the mountains, some of whom had never seen snow, made it out. Over 70 days on the mountain. A-Fucking-Mazing.

Made it out and what it took. There’s nothing gross in this movie. But they are honest about what they had to do. Pay attention to the eyes of these men now as they talk about what they went though. How they got to the point of despair and got beyond. Eyes of such depth and wisdom. I wish I could meet and hug them all.

I’d give the movie 4.5 out of 5. For those of you who do Netflicks put it on the list.

And to members of the Tribe, if we are ever stuck on a mountain, and you’re staving, and I’m dead. Go a head and chow down. Lots of fat, I gots what you need.
